Gov. Bill Richardson has inked this bill , which puts aside cash to look into the state's housing authorities. It calls for audits to be done by December of this year.
It's a good guess that audits might turn out interesting details, given past problems at one regional housing authority in particular. . .
I'm checking into what else the governor is/has/will signed. He's got until March 5 to use his pen.
Otherwise, the Roundhouse is quiet. The only news related to the session in the past few days is that it looks like it will be summer before lawmakers come back to study health care
. It's unclear whether a few months will do anything to change anyone's mind on the governor's plan to insure the 400,000 New Mexicans who don't have health coverage. He has yet to offer any examples of where he would compromise on the bill he introduced during the regular session -- but who knows.
